This is Andrew Hunter from Ben's Barber Shop, South Pasadena. Today, we're gonna talk about how to take care of thick hair for men. When I'm in the barber shop I run into many different kinds of hair types including the beard. If I usually tell all my clients how to care for them if they ask or I just make the suggestion. Usually what I see is that you have to comb it, brush it, condition it, wash it, and you have to do a beard scrub. It's very vital that you do these things because it is healthy for your hair on your beard. The reason why you comb it is that you want to create the shape of the beard. Sometimes when you get a minor little piece that will stick out, it'll look funny, you want to create nice symmetry so you want to brush it down, comb it out if you have a point, if you have a square or if you twist the mustache. This is very important in brushing it and also it will keep it from looking wiry and horrible. You don't want to scare your girlfriend. Second, taking care of it as far as conditioning it and washing it, use a really high quality soap like a facial soap or a conditioner that you normally use as a leave-in for your hair. This will actually promote less dryness in the hair. Also, what's very important, is always neglected is that your hair, your face, and your skin underneath the beard here gets very, very dry because it's the least neglected in the sense for scrubbing it so it's very important that you use a beard scrub to exfoliate the skin so you don't flake on top of your girlfriend. This is Andrew Hunter and this is how you care for thick hair on men.
