Hi. My name is Claire Coleman. I'm a hair stylist and I'm going to show you how to take tightly curled hair and make it into loosely curled hair. Basically the first thing that we're going to do is we're going t use a thermal heat protectant spray. This one also has a little bit of texture in it. So it definitely helps with holding the curl. So you're just going to spray all of your hair. Make sure you get as close to the root as you can, just make sure you cover everything. Then you're going to take your flat iron and you're just going to flatten out, section by section, go very slow, and you're basically just trying to pull the curl, the tight curl out of your hair. It's just going to make it a lot smoother and easier to work with. Then after you've straightened that out, it doesn't have to be perfectly straight. You're really just going to take the frizz and just pull a little bit of the curl out. Then take an iron that's of your desired curl. This one's 1 1/2 inch so this is going to give nice loose curls. Then you're going to go over all the sections again and just use your curling iron. And you're going to start the curling iron, you're going to clamp in at the root of the hair and then release the hair a little bit, roll it in, release, roll it in, until you get your ends tucked into the clamp. And that's going to give you a nice big curl. It's also great to use a serum. Especially when your hair is frizzy. If you use a serum it's going to make it a lot easier to manage your curls afterwards. And you're just going to run it through. Try not to get it too close to the root because it might make your hair look a little bit oily but it's really going to help with keeping friz down and making your ends look really nice. My name is Claire Coleman, I am a hairstylist, and I just showed you how to take tightly curled hair and make it into loosely curled hair.
