Hi, my name is Susan Combs and I'm an insurance broker for Combs & Company. Today, we're gonna talk about how to compare insurance rates and plans. The first thing that you need to start with is a good broker. You may have heard of the term broker and you may have heard of the term agent and they are very different. With an agent, an agent allegiant is to one carrier that's what they represent. With a broker they can represent numerous carriers. So depending upon what your needs are then a broker can shop the market for you. With an agent they're just gonna shop their carrier that they work for and they represent. So a couple things to keep in mind in putting a comparison together is the broker will ask you things such as a list of your doctors because then what they can do is they can search the networks and see which carrier's gonna be the best suited for you. They can also, they'll ask you if you need out of network coverage cause you might have some special needs, maybe there's a list of doctors come up and only half the doctors were in network for each of the carriers so you might need to have out of network coverage. They'll also talk to you about your budget cause every budget is different. So they might ask you what your price range is, what are you looking to accomplish and then what they'll be able to do is they'll be able to put a comparison together for you and be able to explain a lot of the terms that in the, for the public the terms can be very confusing but for the brokers they're very commonplace. So they can define them as simple as possible and help you get a good grasp on what insurance terms are and how the insurance would actually work for you. So like I said the biggest thing is find a good broker, find somebody that represents as many different carriers that are in your area and they can really give you a good picture on what you're looking to accomplish with your insurance.
