Hi, my name is Susan Combs, and I'm an insurance broker with Combs and Company. Today, we're going to be talking about an insurance certificate defined. In essence, all an insurance certificate is is proof of insurance. So a lot of times you'll have a third party that will request this from you. This will be something that is given to you by your broker or carrier if you work with them directly and all it is is just a form that shows all your current limits of liability and it's standard operating procedures. It's nothing to be alarmed about, nothing to be worried about, it's pretty much consistent to be offered as part of your premium so you're not going to pay any additional for it but third parties will sometimes ask you about it because they want to know that you have insurance in place. So I would encourage you to contact your current insurance broker and ask them what the policies and procedures are when you need to request a certificate insurance just so you know going forward.
