Hi, my name's Susan Combs, and I'm an insurance broker with Combs and Company. Today, we're going to talk about, why did my insurance increase? That's the million dollar question, right. So, there's a few key elements of why your insurance probably increased. One of the first ones, that is affecting statewide right now, is National Healthcare. With some of the changes of National Healthcare, one of the big things is that it's requiring to pay a 100 percent for preventive care. So, what that means to you, is when you go for those colonoscopies or your mammograms, you're not paying a penny out of pocket. But that's still costing the insurance company money. So, they're transferring that into higher premiums for a lot of our clients, we're seeing. Another thing to think, depending upon your state, is your age. You've got older, maybe you've bumped up to the next age bracket. So that an also affect your insurance premium. There's also, the next one is, probably your health. So, as we get older, a lot of times we're not as healthy as we were when we were younger. So, if your health has changed, say, maybe you went into the hospital, had a cornea surgery, say, you were diagnosed with cancer. Those are also going to affect your health insurance premium, because you've become a higher utilizer. So, I do encourage you to talk to an insurance professional, because they can really help you navigate and understand why your insurance premium's increased. And also, there might be other carriers that they're going to look, putting you through, that might be more lenient on some of these things that have made your insurance go up.
