Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to make stencils out of lace. Makeup artists a lot of times have their special stencils to get texture and really sometimes you can just use home items to create these stencils or effects that we need. So one of the stencils that we can create is with lace. Now depending on what lace pattern it is, is going to give you that effect on your face. So really look at your lace in particular so you know what you want to achieve out of it. I'm just taking a piece that I cut off from a garment. It has some holes in it. It's kind of spread out everywhere so there's not going to be a strict detail to it. It's just going to be pretty abstract and random. So hold it tight wherever you want it and just go in with a cream into the holes by holding it taut. You'll get a cool effect, pretty much a special effect. It's more like a character piece and just to add some fun to this, give it a little bit more of a dimension, you can go over this cream with a pigment and really get it to look scaly, just to create that almost reptile look that we see. And the stencil is reusable too, just wash it. And then just take it off and then you have just that odd effect that can give you some great basis for any character makeup that you want to achieve. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to make a stencil out of lace.
