Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to do makeup for a cute, dark dolly look. So, that's a trend that's been going on around a while, especially in the sub-genres of the music world. And that's essentially making the eyes look huge, but smoked out and almost mysterious. And then, really just punching up the blush. So, you are looking doll-like, but you're also a little bit on the dark side with the big smoky eye. So, the first step to getting the really big, pretty doll eye looks, are to go in with a white pencil, in the eye, in the waterline of the eye. So, just look up, waterlines are sensitive, so feel free to blink as much as possible. You can actually go onto the bottom lashes and it'll be fine. And that's really just going to add an extra length to appear that your eyes are just that much longer. Now that we have that first step down, we can see that her eyes appear bigger, because we have that white line. So, it's going to make her eyes just go down a little more. After that step, it's basically just a whole lot of black shadow. So, we're going to go in with a pretty thin brush, but the bristles are tight packly, or packed tightly, and we are going to go in with that, and just pack it on. The key isn't to have a lot of colors for this look, it's really just to make sure that it's dark and that the colors blend out. So, the first step to the black, is just to pack it on, and get it really close to the lash line. I'm going to do that to both of the tops. And then, we're going to go underneath the eyes with this. Dolls' eyes are pretty round, so we're going to extend it out and under, just making it as round as possible. Normally, I don't suggest putting any dark colors underneath the eyes. But for this purpose, to create something a little bit more mysterious, dark dolly look, it's necessary, and to really just bring it out on the sides and under. Alright, so with our next step, is going to be to really just blend it out. So, you just take a fluffier brush and work it up. Now, this is inspired, so if you really just want to make a costume out of this look, you just do this times ten. Keep putting on more black eye shadow and keep working it up, keep rounding it out and keep bringing it down. It's all in the illusion that you want to create. So, to top it all off, dolls always have you know, some nice blush going on. Go in with a pretty bright pink and just tap it on, on the apples of the cheeks, more towards the inside, like a real doll would, dolls and clowns. And we already have a bright lip to really just give it that doll effect, so we have a nice look going on here. So, the more theatrical you want it, just bump up everything and again, just keep layering. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just showed you a way to do a cute dark dolly makeup application.
