Hi, I'm Todd Languell, The Flying Furniture Guy from R and D Wood Shop in Scotia, New York. Today, I'm want to show you how to restore old wood. You can see I've got a nice plank here. It's got a lot of damage on it though. It's been abused. It's been setting around for a very very long time. It's got water damage on it, all sorts of other damage but I need it for a repair, so we're going to clean it up, and I'll show you how to restore it. Okay, today I'm going to show you the Ryobi Surface Planer and when you're using the planer, definitely use your protection and a mask if you're inside but if you're outside you should be okay. Also, whatever you do to one side of the board it's really recommended that you do to the other. So I'm going to show you both sides planed here in a few minutes. Okay, you can see that all the damage is pretty much removed. There's some additional grain damage but I think you know, during the furniture making process you'll be able to fill that in or cut around it for something else and all the damage is gone from all there, all the paint that was on there, all the watermarks and other damage that's on there is gone. I'm Todd Languell, The Flying Furniture Guy from R and D Wood Shop, and this was how to restore old wood.
