Hello, this is Bill Victor with, And I'm here today to talk to you a little bit about how to do sit-ups utilizing dumbbells. You know, the sit-up motion itself can be very challenging, but there are ways to use dumbbells to your advantage. Dumbbells also offer another form of resistance and moved in different directions, can stress the abdominal muscles in different ways. The first way I like to show my clients how to put dumbbells to their advantage or make dumbbells work for them. Is when they lay down, develop a little bit of momentum through the sit-up by using the dumbbell. Go ahead and start with your knees up, lie back and with the dumbbells slightly behind the head, drive the dumbbells forward, like you're throwing them into a sit-up position. Another method of doing a sit-up utilizing dumbbells and making it a little bit more challenging, is to lie back. And this time, keep the dumbbells pointing up towards the ceiling. You then want to perform a series of sit-ups that don't necessarily have to make your whole body come up. But just a sit-up, and you reach up towards the ceiling in a slow movement that has you extend and roll back. This yet another way to do sit-ups. The last way would be, one where we end up sitting up, and is twisting and punching across our body. So that we utilize our oblique muscles or twisting muscles of our abs. Keep in mind that as you get stronger, you need for more weight and different movements is going to be critical in increasing your abdominal strength. This has been Bill Victor with Victor Fitness Systems, wishing you great day and a great workout.
