I'm Kristen MacDowell with VivoPools in Southern California, and today I'm going to talk about how to remove a grease film from your swimming pool. First of all, I'd like to talk about where grease would come from. It would either come from sunscreen, people using sunscreen and then swimming in the pool. It will collect in the pool. Sometimes it can collect on the water line making a very sticky residue which will collect dirt and look really ugly after a while. Another source would be if you are moving up O rings out by the equipment and you happen to get a little bit too much on there and it gets into the pathway and winds up in the swimming pool or if you maybe dropped something in there such as barbecue tongs or a tool as you are working on something else. So the easiest way to remove it is to use an enzyme product. I particularly like this one but you want to see something that has an enzyme in there and you would follow directions on the back of the bottle and calculate the amount for your pool and just simply pour it in and that should take care of breaking up all those oils and filtering them out. I'm Kristen MacDowell with VivoPools in Southern California and that's how you would remove oil residue from a swimming pool.
