Hi. I'm Kat Barry, and I am a huge lover of smoothies. I also am a major advocate of breakfast. I believe strongly it's the most important meal of the day. So today I'm going to show you how to make a silken tofu breakfast smoothie. It's protein packed, it's packed with fruit and it's going to get your metabolism going. OK. This smoothie has all the ingredients that you need to get your day going right. We've got three cups seasonal berries. These are frozen berries. So you can get them just in the freezer section of your grocery store. I'm also going to add one tablespoon brown flax seeds. You can throw in milled flax seeds of you want. I always buy the whole seeds because they're way cheaper, they stay fresh faster and they're going to get milled up in your blender anyway. So it doesn't matter. If you buy the whole seeds I will just tell you that you cannot mill them in a food processor. The shell is way too hard and it will destroy the blade of your food processor. So you want to mill them in a blender or a coffee grinder. Just an aside. Here's the agave nectar. This is about a tablespoon if agave nectar. You can also use maple syrup in this recipe. You can change up the fruit if you want. You can use frozen bananas, you could use peaches. And then this is silken tofu. That's about a half a cup of silken tofu. That is what's going to give our smoothie a nice rich creamy texture. The next thing that I'm going to add is some unsweetened almond milk. And I'm just going to pretty much cover the fruit with this. I love almond milk because it doesn't have a strong flavor and it has the least amount of sugar of all of the plant based milks that you can find on the market. So that's why I use it and it's very versatile. So now we're going to puree. We might need to add a touch more milk. But I'm just going to see how this goes here. Just like when your mixing, blending anything and you just stir it once in a while. There we go. It's pretty thick so I'm going to add a little bit more almond milk. It's a little bit thick for my taste. If you like to eat it with a spoon then leave it as is. Just give it one more stir. There is goes. Mmm. It looks delicious. And I can tell you from experience it tastes delicious too. Thanks so much for watching you guys. I hope you enjoyed watching this video on how to make a silken tofu breakfast smoothie. That's it. Have a great day.
