Hi, I'm Kat Barry. I've always been a huge fan of smoothies. I've also always been a huge fan of making food up in advance so that you can have healthy food ready for you on the go in your busy lifestyle. So today I'm going to show you how to make smoothies in advance. This is a great breakfast that you can drink in your car on the way to work, check it out. Pretty much the base is just celery, Romaine lettuce and then either spinach or kale. You want to make sure you have either an apple or some kind of fruit, two different kinds of fruit basically. Today I'm going to use an apple and a pear, one mashed banana. The banana is going to add some richness to our green smoothie, pretty much you know once you use the base of the green smoothie you're going to go ahead and make variations of your own based on what you have in your kitchen. This is Romaine lettuce, I'm tearing it with my hands because whenever you tear greens you should tear them with your hands to keep more of their molecular structure intact. Go ahead and just cut up a pear here and then we're going to put the juice of one lemon in here. If you like a little bit sweeter you can use pineapple instead of banana or you can use an orange instead of a lemon. I had a lot of oranges around a little while ago so I was using oranges a lot, just a little bit of fresh parsley and then we're going to fill it the rest of the way with spinach. This is organic baby spinach. You can also use kale or Swiss chard. Now we're going to fill this halfway with water. I noticed a huge difference in my skin and my energy levels once I started drinking these. Amp that up there, let's get this going. Sometimes if you put the spinach in last it does kind of stick at the top. I wasn't really thinking about that. I usually put it in down at the, towards the bottom. So that's okay we'll just stir it up a little bit here. I'm telling you this is so hydrating and energizing. Okay, so now I'm just going to pour this into my Nalgene bottle. Oh, it smells so refreshing. I want to drink a giant glass of it right now. It's so good. Do not let the color scare you off. This is an awesome breakfast. So, now turn the lid really tightly. You want to make sure if you're going to store these that it's sealed tightly because otherwise the nutrients are going to escape. Okay so we can put this in the refrigerator and that's it, take it with you tomorrow on your way to work. Well that's it on how to make smoothies in advance.
