Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist. And today, I'm going to tell you the difference between what's in a lipstick and what's in a ChapStick. The two actually have quite similar ingredients, lipstick just has a little more. So, I'll start out with the ChapStick. ChapStick has the SPF in it, because that's one of the main motives for ChapStick, is to keep your skin moisturized and your lips protected from the sun. So, usually most of them have an SPF 15, the lipstick does not have SPF for the most part. The ChapStick also has beeswax and mineral oils in it. And those are pretty much the main ingredients. The lipstick has ll the qualities of the ChapStick, except for the SPF, some lipstick vary. But lipstick in general also has titanium dioxide in it, which is to give the pigment or the color of the lipstick that's in the tube. It also has fish scales in it, for the lipsticks that aren't matte. So, if they're shimmering lipsticks, then they most likely have fish scales in them. They also have pig fat in them, to give it it's texture. And it also has beeswax in it, because lipsticks are quite waxy and that's the way it's going to read on the lips. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just did a comparison on what you will find in a lipstick and in a ChapStick.
