Hi, I’m Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I’m here to answer your question, “What eye shadow to use when you’re wearing a purple dress?” We have our purple dress going on right here, and purple’s a pretty bright color. Depending on the shade that you’re wearing depends on the color that you want to put on your eye. So, we went with a pretty standard purple, and the best way to do that is to keep the eye pretty neutral. But, if you want something a little more festive for the holidays that are coming up, we can opt for a gold. Now, gold is metallic and it has a cool texture to it. So, that – why it works so well – is it’s because it’s warm, and gold really actually works well with purple. They’re the colors of royalty. We’ve seen the combination of the two throughout time, and they do work together very well – especially a gold shiny color, it’s perfect for the holidays that are coming up just around the corner. We don’t want to make it too dramatic, as we do have a pop of color in our dress. So, the color is near the neckline. So, we just want to make it pretty and beautiful, really just making it seamless. And, you can keep it strictly above the eye, or if you want a little extra – look up – we can go slightly below the eye too. The gold’s nice and reflective, so it’s good in the sun or in dim lighting. Highlight the inner tear ducts, too. Just make sure we keep it blended. I’m Erin Hendley, and I just showed you eye shadow that will work well with a purple dress.
