Hi, this is Stephany with Elevated Fitness and today we're going to talk about how leg press tones your legs. Now the primary muscle that's being used during the leg press is going to be your thighs also known as the quadriceps. Now depending on how you position your feet when you are on the platform pressing, if you bring it lower to the platform it's actually going to target the thighs a little bit more, but if you start to push away from the platform, then you get your secondary muscle a little bit more of a kick. The secondary or the assisting muscle that helps out with a leg press is going to be the gluteus maximus, the biggest of all three butt muscles. Now when you are pressing, you want to take into consideration you do have assisting muscles that are helping you out. One of the assisting muscles or also known as the stabilizing muscle is going to be your hamstrings as well as your calf muscles. So just remember, if you want to get more of a thigh workout using the front of the legs, bring your feet lower on the platform and if you want to get a little bit more of your booty working then you go higher on the platform. This is Stephany with Elevated Fitness and we just talked about how leg press tones your legs, get lifted.
