Hi, I’m Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I’m going to tell you how you can start your own makeup boutique. There are plenty of things that you need to consider when you think of your makeup boutique or your studio, and probably the first thing to think of is location – that’s really the important thing. So, once you decide your location, it needs to be accessible to whatever your niche market is. So, decide if you want to be just on physical location, or if you want to spread out to online selling as well. So, you can be one or the other, or you can be a combination of the two. Secondly, you probably need to come up with a budget. Since you are starting your own makeup boutique, you’re pretty much starting your own business. So, it’s very important to have spreadsheets and a designated budget. And also, make sure that your money is going up each week, and documenting all of this. Also, you’re going to sell makeup in your makeup boutique, so it’s important to decide what kind of makeup you want to sell: Already-existing brands, or if you want use private labels and put your own label on top of that. That’s a big trend in makeup boutiques right now. So, all these things are just the start of what you need to consider for your makeup boutique, but they are things that are very important to consider before diving in too deep. I’m Erin Hendley, and I just told you how to start your makeup boutique.
