Hi, I'm Erin Hendley professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how you can use makeup cakes. So what we're going to do our cake makeup is liquid activated so take a water or a spray of some sort and just lightly give it a spray, we don't want too much liquid on there because we don't want to drown out the color and the pigment. The colors I'm using today are kind of intense so cakes come in all different colors, but this is just going to be fun to use. I'm going to go in with a yellow onto the eye and just dab where I want it. A cake base is great alone, but it actually works very well underneath a powder eye shadow and that's what I'm going to show you today. So we're just patting it and we're letting it dry, we don't want to put too much on because to much product build up can lead to clumping. So we're just really providing a nice base color for our pother shadow. So we have that and then just to show you what a nice base it creates for our powder shadow. I'm going to go in with another yellow that's not quite as florescent, this is a nice goldenrod color and go over it so it really just reads a little more toned down, but still bright and fun. And we're noticing how the cake makeup really adheres the powder makeup onto the skin and it's really going to prevent the creasing and clumping that we want to avoid. And it also provides just a nice intense under tone for our shadow. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to use makeup cakes.
