Hi, my name is Claire, I'm a hair dresser, and I'm going to show you how to style your hair for a gala. The tools that we're going to use for this are a one inch curling iron, we're also going to use a Mason Pierson brush, a comb, a teasing comb, hair spray, and a texture heat protectant spray. First thing we're going to do, is we're going to use our curling iron, and we're going to curl our hair in sections. About one inch vertical sections. And we're just going to go through all of our hair, just to give a nice foundation to work with. After you curl all the sections of your hair, you're going to take a U shaped section and separate it out from the rest of your hair. Could use a clip to just get it out of the way. Bring a couple of pieces forward on each side. Then use your Mason Pierson brush to smooth everything out. And secure with your ponytail holder or your elastic. Then you're going to take this section at the top and just to a little bit of teasing. Spray with spritzer hair spray right at the root. Tease back. We don't want to do the whole section, just a couple of pieces. Then we'll take the rest of the section and your Mason Pierson, and just gently brush to smooth out the top. And with keeping the height, we're just going to twist a little bit just to get a shape. Let's see the shape from the front. And we're just twisting in the back to create a little of shape there. Just kind of keep wrapping making curls and pinning. Pull back, take the section and do a couple of different pieces. Maybe four sections, depending on the thickness of your hair. Twist and pin. And just let the hair just kind of take its shape with the curls that you put in to it. So keep using your sections. And just work through. Now this is kind of more of a free form style, but it's still is going to look really beautiful and interesting. You're basically just using the curls that you made with your iron to kind of guide where the placement is going to be and how big your loops are. About midway through, you want to maybe bring in these little side pieces. Keep a couple out just so that you have something to show around the face. She has bangs, so we'll kind of leave those out. And then you're just going to keep pinning until everything is secure. And this is our final look from the back. From the front, and you can just secure everything with a little bit of hair spray. And this is how to style your hair for a gala.
