Hi, my name is Erica Lugbill, and I'm an interior designer in Chicago. I own Lugbill Designs which is a high end residential remodeling and interior design firm. Today, I'm going to be covering how to choose an accent paint color when you are painting your space. The first thing to evaluate is the size of your room. If your space is small you may not want to choose an accent wall. I think sometimes painting an accent wall can kind of chop up the space and make the whole room feel smaller. If your space is large enough then look at the main color on your wall. If they have gray undertones such as these paint colors here then go to your paint deck and look at colors with the same undertones. Like these blues have a lot of gray hiding underneath them. So I think these pair very well. They really complement each other. I love the way these two work together. So that's perfect. And then if your wall colors have more brown undertones flip your paint deck over and go to the warmer colors. Then you can see how well these complement each other. The trick is to not have two crazy of a color or too wild of a color. You want something that's going to work well with the main wall color within your space that will really complement it. Thanks for watching my video I hope you find these tips helpful. To see more of my work go to lugbilldesigns.com.
