Hi, I'm Phyllis of Many Creative Gifts, and in this segment, I'm going to demonstrate how to do the waffle stitch. First, you want to start out with a row of double crochet stitches. Then, you're going to do your beginning chains and a front-post double crochet stitch. You'll want to do two regular DC's and then, another front-post double crochet stitch. Two regular DC's and a front-post double crochet stitch. Be sure that you're only skipping one stitch behind the front-post double crochet, you don't want to end up with a wrong number of stitches on your row. So, you're just going to alternate the two double crochet stitches, and the one, front-post double crochet. That's going to be your second row of the waffle stitch. And the row with the front-post double crochet. To do your third row and create that waffle look, you're going to start your row and you're going to do. To start your row, you're going to do one, regular double crochet stitch. Then, you're going to do two front-post double crochet stitches. This will match up with the two regular double crochet stitches you did in the row below. Now, when you get to the front-post double crochet stitch from the row below, you're going to do a regular double crochet stitch into that stitch. So, this row, you're going to alternate from what you did before. Again, be sure that you're only skipping two stitches in back of the two front-post double crochets you're doing. You're going to alternate these two rows, in order to create the pattern. And that's how you create the waffle stitch. This is the front, and this is the back, which is also nice in it's own regard. I'm Phyllis of Many Creative Gifts, and this segment was on how to do the waffle stitch.
