Hello there, my name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister, and today we're going to talk briefly about what is the hyperextension of the hip. The hip is a very complicated muscles and a complicated joint because wherever you have a joint area, then you have muscles and bones connecting and it's a conjunction of a lot of things going on. But, this is what we do when we hyperextend to just make it very simple. To hyperextend is to take your leg and hyper beyond the back range, beyond the back range of the plane of your motion right here. So, we want to go back and we use these moves when we talk obviously, when we're running, when we're swimming. So, we actually use the hyperextension of the hip for a lot of different movements. So, that's why we always want to sure about our hip muscles through nice hip exercises and of course, very important, stretching it all at times because all of these tendons tend to get tight if we're sitting constantly, finding ourselves in traffic constantly, our hip muscles and our hip flexors get very tight which start to pull in our lower back causing lower lumbar pain. So, we want to engage our hips as often as we can to keep them from falling apart. My name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Peak Performance Coach and Fitness Minister and that's just a brief explanation of what is hyperextension of the hip.
