Hi. I'm Carol Ruth Weber interior designer and life designer. You can visit me at Today, we're going to learn how to decorate those ugly flat paneled doors. You know those hollow doors that you just don't know what to do with and they seem kind of flimsy. Anyway, you could do a lot with just a little paint. You don't have to paint them out to match the room. That's just going to bring more boring attention to them. And you don't have to necessarily wet paint them like the trim, like a white trim and a white door. Instead, think about a bold color. Do something a little different. If you have pale walls think about a darker blue or even a black. Paint with a high gloss enamel and you're adding a unique definition to the room. You're changing the decor and you'll see how beautiful they become. They actually won't look like those cheap doors anymore. Another thing you can do is go online and find a mural made specifically for the door. You can find a city scape or a sea scape, a beautiful fish tank with fish floating up to the top of the door. You could find a horse peeking through a stable door, palm trees. There's so many choices for you to have with these murals. And they look absolutely amazing on the door. Another thing you might want to try is molding, applied molding, simply by taking some molding mitering the ends and applying it to the door as if like a picture frame. You're changing your flat paneled door into to a paneled door. And then if you paint everything one color it'll look like you have a paneled door. It won't look like a cheap flat door anymore. So anyway, enjoy yourself. Have fun decorating your abode and be creative. Always think, be creative and try new things. And never be afraid to dance.
