Hi, I'm Victoria Shanta Retelny, nutrition expert and author of The Essential Diet to Healthy Healing foods. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a strawberry smoothie with healthy yogurt. So, when we talk about our yogurt, we're using plain yogurt this happens to be full fat, but you can use low-fat; full fat yogurt is going to make it a little more creamy and you want to look for yogurt with live active cultures because those are probiotics, which are really good for your GI tract and your gut health. So, you pour your yogurt in, this is about a cup of yogurt and then we're going to add our strawberries and you look for ripe plump strawberries, I like to use organic strawberries, if I can and you're just going to chop your strawberries, just roughly because they are going to be blended up in your smoothie mixture, so you just do that. And strawberries once again loaded with powerful antioxidants and vitamin C, which is really great for your skin health too. So, you're going to put these right in and they're are going to add some nice color. The next thing we're going to do is we're going to add, what I love is this powerful Omega 3 fat from hemp seeds, these are right from the hemp plant and you just put a couple of hemp seeds in there, you don't have to use a lot, just a few and you could also use chia seeds or flax seeds as well, for that Omega 3 fat, which is good for your brain and heart health. And then I like to just drizzle a little bit of honey, so maybe a teaspoon of honey, to give it a little extra sweetness a little pack, punch of antioxidants and then mix. Okay and your smoothie is ready to go, you just take it out of your blender and here you go, pour it right in to your glass and there a re a few chunks left in there, which is tasty, it does add some nice flavor to it and there's your strawberry smoothie.
