Hi, I'm Lori Greer from Atlanta, Georgia, and I'm here to explain how to put your tax refund on your Green Dot card. As you may or may not know Visa or Mastercard came up with the Green Dot card as part of their prepaid cards. It's a card that you can load with your money avoiding high interest on unpaid amounts at the end of the month. They can be used anywhere an ATM or debit cards are accepted. According to Green Dot's frequently asked questions section they are not currently accepting direct deposit of federal tax refunds. The tax refunds will be rejected. If you have not received your refund and believe it may have been rejected you might want to visit the IRS website at And select check on your refund or call the IRS refund hotline. That being said according to TurboTax their prepaid cards will be converted to a Green Dot card as of November 2nd 2012. Also you'll need to go through Green Dot's website to access your online account. For further clarification please contact Green Dot for the latest and most accurate instructions on adding your refund to your card. Again, I'm Lori Greer from Atlanta, Georgia. And that's how to put your tax refund on your Green Dot card.
