Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda at, and today we're going to talk about how to lift a toddler. Lifting your toddler is pretty easy. It can also be easy to hurt yourself doing it. You want to make sure that depending on the size of your toddler, you lift them in a way that's appropriate. You can either lift them up by their arms underneath their arms, as long as you are bending your knees and having good posture as you do it, you are pretty safe to not hurt yourself or the child. You can also lift them up with a scooping motion underneath their knees. There are a couple of things to be weary of. You want to make sure that you're not picking them up with their wrists or even by their forearms because their joints are still pretty delicate and loose and while they are most likely not going to hurt themselves while falling or anything, you picking them up and pulling on those joints, could really harm them and even pull a joint out of socket. It's important to be careful how you pick up your child for their safety and your safety. Thanks so much for watching. My name is Christina and today we talked about how to pick up your toddler.
