Hi everybody, my name is Gene, I'm a graphic designer, and an illustrator, I've been in the business for about 15 years. And today, we're going to combine a bunch of things, and we're going to show your kids Feng Shui. And we're going to be doing some bedroom crafting and we're going to be teaching them something at the same time. So, let's jump right in and get started. So, if you anything about Feng Shui, then you know that it's not good to put any of the cool colors, any of the water element in your bedroom. And we're introducing kids to Feng Shui, kids need balance and order in their lives as well. So, it's not good to put the blues, the greens, the purples in the bedroom, because a bedroom is a place of healing, and like the Red Cross. So, what we're going to do is, we're going to take all of our warm colors and the bedroom is also a place of learning and it's a place of growth. So, here's what we're going to do, we're going to take just a couple of warm colors. I'm going to use yellow as my base, and to promote learning and to promote healing, we're going to use the warmer colors. And to promote learning, we're just going to grab this crayon here and I'm just going to basically, I'm not going to write the word, basically. I just thought that, that was interesting, I just forgot that an A is diagonal, any way, A, B, C's. Here we go. So learning, you want to teach them the A, B, C's, you want to teach them the numbers. So, I'm going to use that as a base for this. And you know, the other great thing is, while you're, while you're doing this craft, you can be teaching your child, B. Or their A, B, C's, you can teach them in fact, all the letters, you don't have to limit it to B. I know when I was a kid, August time, my mom was like, you know what, just learn the letter B and it was four, five years, she kept teaching me the letter B. Alright, that's not really true, but anyway, you can teach them their A, B, C's. You can do like little G, cut out or draw a picture of the B for me. And then, you can see whether or not they know what a B looks like. And if you're like me, and you were a smart Alec kid, I would actually draw like a bumble bee. And then, my parents would laugh, because they had a good sense of humor. And then, say, no, the letter B, and kind of like in that sort of, you know, that happy kid voice. That we adults tend to talk in when we're talking to children. No, that's not what I mean, and it could be kind of condescending, I guess, but it's not intended to be. You just want to emphasize, emphasize words, because they're still learning the words. So, at the same time as you're talking to them and trying to communicate, you're also trying to teach them what these words mean, and all of that has to do with context. So, here we are, we've got our A, B, C's out of warm colors. And at this point, you can have them you know, have them draw just about anything, have them write just about anything. So, here are our A, B, C's, o.k. and we can glue this here. I'm also going to draw little book real quick. So, A, B, C and then, to do a book, you flip this over, so you can see what I'm doing. I'm just going to do one of these, I'm going to go start off with a basic rectangle and then, I'm going to cut it in, here's my half way mark. I'm going to cut it in here, just like that and then, I'm going to go parallel to this. So, whatever direction you drew this line, go parallel, same thing with the other side, one line this way, one line that way. And I'm going to cut the shape out real quick. Again, you don't have to limit this to books and A, B, C's, but I just wanted to emphasize this is a place of learning, it's a place of healing. You know, and read up on Feng Shui a little bit, obviously, before you try teaching your child Feng Shui. So, you know what the elements are, you know where the elements should be placed. And then, you can even, even share with your child, why are we doing it this way, mom? Well, the reason we're doing it this way, little Timmy, is because of this. And I'm actually cut out a, just another quick page here. You want to make sure you cut the white pages a little smaller than you cut the, whatever other you're using. So that it actually looks like a page inside the book. And you can always turn it up, once you get it, like, I think, I'm going to turn this one up real quick. Turn it up once you get it, not a big deal, just cut a little more off, into each edge. This way, it looks like the pages are actually in the book, instead of the pages are way too big for the book, once you have it open. And there you go, it's pretty simple, an open book, and draw a line down the center. So, we've got an open book, we've got A, B, C's coming out of the book, glue all this together, make a little scene. And those are basically the things you keep in mind when you're looking to create balance in your child's life, and also have some fun with them and do some crafting. So, you can find out more about Feng Shui on the Internet, or there are actually a couple of good programs on the learning channel, which is not the learning channel anymore, it's something else. But anyway, check that out, if you don't know enough about it and you want to learn more. And you know, it's really what it's about is, balance in your life. And what the crafting is about or what my videos are about, is having fun with your children while teaching them something new and interesting. So, thanks for watching, guys, we'll see you next time.
