Hi, my name is Terina Gillette, and I'm a professional event coordinator, and today we're going to talk about how to carve a pumpkin face. The materials that you need are a pumpkin. You're going to need a small carving knife or you can get a pumpkin tool. You're going to need a marker and a piece of paper to draw your pumpkin face out or you can use a pencil to sketch your pumpkin face out. So one way that you can do this is we can take and tape our pumpkin face on here. We're going to start carving out the pumpkin mouth and the goal is to go partway through but not all the way through to the pumpkin because this type of pumpkin is just a carving, a special carving pumpkin to show detail for the front of the face and not a gutted pumpkin that needs to be completely cleaned out. Then we're going to cut out our eyes and after you score around your design then you're going to cut chunks out. and pull those out and then clean your pumpkin to make it nice and neat. When you get ready to pop out the top part here, you're just going to score it a little bit and use your knife to kind of fleck out pieces of your pumpkin. Make sure to help small children with that and then if you have sprayed your pumpkin like I have, then the black shows through really nice with the orange on the inside. And that is how you carve a pumpkin face.
