Hi, this is Nicholas Iarocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development, Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York and this is how to reset a toilet. Now you might have noticed some rocking in an older toilet and the bolts are loose, you might have to take it off to replace a new toilet, there's an endless reasons why would you have to reset your toilet. So basically, the idea is to remove the toilet, put in a new wax gasket, and re seat it. So how do we do that? We're going to take off our cover caps. Taking off the old bolts, which more than likely have to be sawed off. And you can saw them off using a hacksaw or a power oscillating saw or a skirting saw. So once the toilet has been removed, we've re seated our toilet on a wax gasket. We've made sure that the flange is in good shape and attached to the floor. And that it's not rocking. We've made sure that the bolts are secure on our toilet and we're not getting any rocking in our toilet. And we made sure supply lines are connected and reconnected. We're going to turn on the water supply and we're going to start a trial flush. Check for leakage around the perimeter of the toilet. Make sure there's no leakage from the wax gasket. And if there is, we're going to have to reset. Put in a new gasket and reset it. Once you've thoroughly checked those items, your toilet is set and we're done. This is Nicholas Iarocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development, Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York, helping you build a better life. See you next time.
