Hi, I'm Tom Hutchinson from Hutchinson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. I'm here to talk to you today about servicing your gas furnace and getting it ready for the heating season. When you are working on a gas appliance, you always want to think of safety first and you want to turn the power off to the appliance and turn the gas valve off and make sure there is no combustible stored around your gas appliances. When you are getting ready for the heating season and you want to service your gas furnace, number one, repair is to make sure that you have a clean filter and simply slide the filter system out of the gas furnace and replace it with a nice new clean filter prior to your heating season. The second thing is to make sure that there isn't any buildup of dust and dirt in the gas burner area and also in your blower assembly. You use this by taking a vacuum cleaner and just cleaning all the, around the ports of the gas furnace and making sure that there's no, removing all the dirt and any dust that may have built up in there. Also, in your blower assembly, if there's any dirt collected in the blower area, make sure you've removed all the dirt from that area as well. The next thing to check is to make sure that all your wiring inside the furnace is new looking, that there's no broken wires or bare wires, make sure that that's all safe. The next item would be to make sure that the vent assembly is also in good looking order and there is no indication of moisture or rust or anything, any holes or any separation of joints whatsoever on the flue assembly and once you have completed all those tasks, your furnace is ready for the heating season to keep your family comfortable all Winter long. Again, I'm Tom Hutchinson from Hutchinson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. Thanks for watching.
