Hi, this is Dr. Debra Jaliman, a Board Certified Dermatologist in New York City and Author of the Book, "Skin Rules, Trade Secrets From A Top New York Dermatologist," here to talk about the best treatments for a 60-year old woman. What can you do to make your skin look better? First of all, it's important to use a mild cleanser because you don't want to strip your skin. So, how do you know if your cleanser is mild enough? First, look for a milky cleanser that doesn't suds. If your cleanser is sudsing, then you know it's stripping your skin because it has a detergent and that's not a good thing because most people when they're 60, their skin starts to lose the oils that are present in the skin. The next thing is that every morning you want to make certain whether you're going outside or not that you're using an SPF of 30. Look for a broad spectrum sunscreen that blocks both UVA rays as well as UVB rays. You may see, "Why do I need to wear a sunscreen if I'm sitting inside by a window?" Well, we know that window glass transmits UVA rays and then UVA rays damage the collagen, an elastic tissue and that causes wrinkles. So, we certainly don't want to get that. And there are many different sunscreens you can use. You can use one that has a moisturizer, you can use a lotion, you can even use a powder. When you're washing your face, you can use a Sonic Cleansing System. The Sonic Cleansing System helps get rid of the dead skin and that's a good way to exfoliate. Exfoliation is very important to give the skin its glow. There are great products that you can get over the counter to make your skin look better. There are products which have Vitamin C and other antioxidants and the anti, antioxidants help make the skin look better. It helps the fine lines in the skin and it helps to make the skin glow. You can look for growth factors which help the fine lines, you can look for peptides, you can look for DNA repair products. And you can also look for retinol. Retinol reverses sun damage and it also gets rid of brown spots and fine lines. So, even if you don't want to go see a dermatologist, there are a lot of things you can do at home to make your skin look a lot better. You can even the color, you can even the texture and you can even get rid of fine lines. Thanks for watching.
