Hi, my name is Wandia. I'm a Digital Media Aficionado, which means I love to geek out on all things digital; that's social media marketing, mobile media, the whole nine. You could find out more about me at www.wandia.info. Today, we're going to talk about what to do if your Facebook account gets hacked. Now, in truth, an ounce of prevention is far better than cure. So, I'm going to show you how to prevent your Facebook account from getting hacked or how to make sure that you secured all your data before it gets hacked. You could do that by making sure that you secured all your, all your information and you do that by going into account settings and right here, you go into general. Click on that general tab on the left hand side and click download a copy of your Facebook data. And when you click start my archive, archive, Facebook will make sure that all your data has been stored or kept in an archive. So, if your Facebook account gets hacked, you could always import that Facebook information back. Now, recently, a lot of people was saying that they may have been hacked and in truth, it was actually, a user error. They were reporting that they had getting friends they had blocked or they were, they were finding like a lot of friends coming back on board. And what Facebook found is that, a lot people had clicked, you know, friend used their Facebook contact import which is great, I mean that's what it meant to do, but it imported all their friends from their contact book, including people who they didn't want to be their friends on Facebook. And then, there was a log in their Facebook servers and so, these people appeared randomly on their Facebook account. And so, in truth, it wasn't really that the account had been hacked, but there was that log and so it showed up as if they've been hacked. Now, having said that, there are people who have been hacked, who claimed they've been hacked by going into applications that look fishy or the did not know where they were coming from, and they, they captured information that wasn't, wasn't correct or some various information had been deleted. So, be very careful about which type of application that you joined or download or become part of, make sure that you have good antivirus software on your computer so that your Facebook account is not hacked in that sense. And if there is a situation where your Facebook account does get hacked, you can always go to facebook.com/security and fine out more information about what you can do. So, click on Facebook security under take action or threats. Facebook delineates exactly what to do if you do detect that your Facebook has been taken over and is being used to send spam or has been hacked. I hope that information was helpful.
