Hi, this is Erick Nathan, Master Floor Service out of Los Angeles, California, and I'm going to teach you how to fill nail holes in cracks on your wood floor. Now on a solid wood floor before you sand and finish, you can use a wood filler that is designed and there's many different brands out there that is specifically designed to use on a freshly sanded floor. You want to get yourself a putty knife and if you're doing a whole floor you can trowel fill it on as well but you just take the fill, you put it on a putty knife and you come across and just put the filler into the nail holes and get the excess off with the putty knife, same thing with the cracks, you know, and wait until it dries and then you can just sand it off with your next grid of sandpaper. It's a very simple concept and idea. Now, sometimes nail holes and cracks and stuff are missed when you're sanding floors, not to be alarmed, it's okay because in between coats of finish, they have a colored putty that you could use, okay and you just take the colored putty, put a little bit on your finger and then come back through and you're going to push it into the nail holes or any cracks that you might have missed and apply your last coat of finish and it will lock it in and you're good to go.
