Hey, what's up? My name is Chase, and today I'm going to show you how to trace a photo in Illustrator. First, we're going to create a new document and I'm just going to do a normal default, 8 and 1/2 X 11 page document, click "okay," and then we're going to place the photo that we'd like to trace by going to "file and place," select your picture. I'm using a picture of my friend, it's called friend.jpeg and I'm going to scale it down a bit so it will fit onto the canvas that we're working on, zoom in so you can see and next is the tracing. We're going to hit "object" and then go down to the "live trace feature" and click "make". That converts it to just a black and white live trace of the image that we had before. If you would like to do a color, you can go on ahead and change the settings in that when you make your live trace options and, but for me today, I just feel like a black and white is fine. That's all I'm going to do. So that's just about it. Today, I showed you how to live trace a photo in Illustrator. Thanks for watching.
