Hello, I’m Charles Galbreath, workforce empowerment speaker and human resource professional. Today, I want to share with you some information about low-wage permanent jobs versus high-wage temp jobs. Now, both of these can be very beneficial to the individual depending on what their needs are. Let’s start off with low-wage permanent job. Some of the benefits of a low-wage permanent job would be you know on a daily basis that you’ll have a job to go to. Benefits are also an option that would be presented to you, and would be certainly something that could be beneficial to you and your family. Also, with a low-wage permanent job there are opportunities for growth, because you are with an organization that could possibly promote you or move you along, so that can be very helpful. Some of the benefits of a high-wage temp job, a lot of high-wage temp jobs can be very beneficial during the holidays if you’re wanting to make some extra money, if you’re wanting to do some seasonal work maybe for a birthday or for a special project that you have within your family, or if you have a special need for extra money, this can be very beneficial. Some of the downfalls will be no benefits. Some of the other downfalls will be you would possibly be out of work once the run of that job is over. So, once again, there are benefits for both of those, and there can be disadvantages for both of them. So, when facing a low-wage permanent job versus a high-wage temp job, it’s very important for you to assess your personal needs. Are you needing long-term work or short-term work?
