Hi, I'm Omar, and I'm a programmer. Today, I'm going to show you how to use custom taxonomy on your WordPress blog. In WordPress, taxonomy is considered categories and tags. So, why don't you go ahead and log onto your WordPress page, and I'll show you were to go. I've already logged on to my dashboard, as you can see here. What you want to do is go to, "posts," but don't click, "posts." Just go to the submenu categories. Once you're there, you can, as you can see, you can add a new category or edit the categories that you already have. Let's go ahead and add one. We'll call it, "new category." A slug is just a URL-friendly version of the name. I'm not really going to go into it here, but let's go ahead and add a new category, and I'll show you some neat stuff you can do after that. So, as you can see, I added the new category. I will add a new subcategory to that category, new subcategory. And the way you make that a subcategory is right here, where it says, "parent," you can click the category that you want it's parent to be. And when you add it, it's now going to be added as a subcategory to the parent category. I'm Omar, and I just showed you how to use custom taxonomy, also known as categories on your WordPress blog. Thank you for watching.
