Hello, I'm Charles Galbreath, workforce empowerment speaker and human resource professional. Today, I'm going to share with you how to evaluate a job offer. Now, I'm sure if you've been out of the workforce for awhile you can be very excited about the offers that you are given. And even if you're excited about moving up or changing positions, this can be a very exciting movement for you. But you don't want to let your excitement or your desperation get in the way of making good sound decisions. When evaluating a job offer it's extremely important for you to look at your lifestyle. Understand what your financial needs are. The financial needs of your family. Also it's very important for you to evaluate the health needs of your family when we're talking about benefits. So first of all, within salary, will the salary that you're being offered help you maintain the lifestyle or improve the lifestyle that you have. This is something that is extremely important for you to think about when evaluating a job offer. The second aspect would be, how are the benefits? Sometimes you can take a lower salary if you have better benefits and you'll be completely okay with that decision. So how are the benefits that you're offered? What will they provide you and your family as far as health benefits? As far as dental insurance? As far as life insurance? These are all things that are very important to think about. Something that is extremely important for you to remember as you're moving forward is retirement benefits. A retirement benefit, a corporation that offers you a match or offers you a nice percentage, can be very beneficial to you and your family in the future. So it's very important for when you're thinking of a job offer, for you to think about those aspects of the job as well. So again if you just remember for you to think about yourself and how this job and the salary and the benefits that you're offered fit in and complement your lifestyle or hopefully upgrade your lifestyle. Then you will make a sound decision when accepting or reviewing that offer. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
