Hi, I’m Lori Gilder from Interior Makeovers and LoriGilder.com. And today, I’m here to talk with you about how to dress up your bedroom walls. The bedroom is the place where we hide out. It’s a refuge, we want to relax, rest. But still, at the same time, you want it to envelope you and feel fantastic when you walk through the door. So, how do you dress up your walls and really make them speak to you? From simple to hard, it doesn’t have to be a big deal. It doesn’t have to be anything that is over-the-top crazy. You can make it as easy as you want, or as elaborate as you’d like. Paint: Obviously the biggest bang for your buck. Pick your favorite color, your favorite tone. Wrap yourself in it, do all the walls in your favorite color, even change up the ceiling color. Pop some trim pieces with a contrasting color, and you have a beautiful jewel box of a bedroom. Secondly, take some wall coverings. There are beautiful wall coverings right now, from laser cuts to flock patterns to beautiful textured grass cloths, which are so delicious, and that create a really different environment all around, and you just – you’ll never want to leave your room, actually. Beautiful textures and patterns. And, there’s also a really fun way to dress up your walls. Take some photos from your last trip, your last adventure, and go frame them in the same size, the same finish, and go a collage on your wall. It can serve as a headboard, you could even do it over your dresser, so that you have a memory of where you’ve been, what you’re doing, and it’s a beautiful, beautiful centerpiece and focal point in your space. And, for those of you who know me, you know I love wainscoting, bead board, board and batten, any kind of architectural elements and details that really enhance the space. And, use those in your bedroom, on your wall, on your ceiling, anywhere you can. Requires a little bit more work, but not too tricky and not too out of the ordinary, and creates a beautiful backdrop of your wall. So, again, you can see there are many, many ways to go about decorating your walls and dressing up your bedroom walls in your home. So, I would love to hear from you. Again, I’m Lori Gilder, and you can always find me at LoriGilder.com.
