Hi, this is Melissa Morley with All Seasons Insurance. Today, we're going to talk about car insurance rates. It's a subject that is very familiar to almost anybody that ever listens to the radio, or watches television, or drives down and looks up at the big ads. It seems that, nowadays, car insurance rates are common practice to be advertised. Insurance companies want your business. They want you to go shopping, and they want you to find a better rate. Car insurance companies also want to keep your business. So, what you need to know about car insurance rates is that when you go shopping, don't forget to call your own company. Many times they may find a way to reduce your rates. But, make sure that by reducing your car insurance rates, you are not reducing your coverages. Anybody can give you a quote that'll chop your premium down by a third. But be aware, in many instances, it's going to also reduce your coverages, which could cost you in the long run if you were to have an accident or, say, need towing and you've excluded that from your policy. Speaking about excluding, sometimes your car insurance rates are gigantic because you've had someone in the household who has had an accident. Sometimes car insurance companies will let you exclude that driver. You need to ask your company if you can, and you need to be aware of the consequences if you do. But, insurance rates are based on all kinds of stuff--the car, who you are, how good your credit is, what your coverages are. And, there are many, many factors that go in. And, the only way that you're going to know all about car insurance rates is to go shopping. Compare apples for apples, and you might just get a pretty good deal. If you have any questions about what your rates are, call up your agent. Call up your broker, and carve out 15 minutes to go in there and sit down and have them explain to you. The more well-informed you are, the better you're going to be as the consumer. We all pay lot of money for car insurance, and most people don't know what they have. Why don't you find out what you have? Give a call. Go online. Do your homework, and you will be better for it. This is Melissa Morley with All Seasons Insurance, and today we've talked about car insurance rates.
