Hi, I'm Chef Bailey, a private chef with, and I'm standing in the kitchen of my favorite restaurant, Freda's Caribbean Soul and Cuisine. Today, we'll be making empanadas which are Spanish patties. I'll be filling them today with beef, more so picadillo. This picadillo is made with ground beef, salt, black pepper, oregano, garlic powder, tomato sauce, diced onions and diced olives and you just want to saute that in a pan and basically you will get this mixture right here. So when that's all done you just want to spoon some of that in the center of a wrap. Now it's a wrap made out of dough specifically for empanadas. You just want to put a little in the middle like so and then you just want to fold over halfway to create your empanada perfectly and you want to use your fork to close the edges. Now you're going to fry these in oil, maybe about a cup of oil in your frying pan and they are really quick. I'd say maybe one to two minutes on each side and there's your empanada. You will fry that right there in this pan but I have a couple done already for you right here for your viewing and these are your beef empanadas. Now you can fill these with anything, chicken, guava, I typically like to serve them with beef, filled with beef and they are great for appetizers.
