Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda, at DomesticFelicity.com, and today we're going to talk about how to improve milk supply for a nursing baby. There are lots of tips out there for increasing your milk production when nursing a baby, things like eating healthy fats, proteins, even certain herbal teas have been said to increase your milk supply. Some people even recommend coffee for helping to stimulate milk production. However, the number one way of increasing your milk production is how often you nurse. It's important to have a comfortable place to nurse your baby, since you're going to be doing it so much. And it's also important to remember that if your baby is acting like they're starving, that's because they're probably going into a growth spurt, and they're going to want to do something called cluster feeding. If you try to keep them on a strict schedule, then you're probably not going to end up with enough milk for them when their growth spurt is over with. They are acting fussy and wanting to eat for a reason. Your body knows to produce more milk when your baby nurses more often than it usually does. That's what stimulates milk production far more than any other helpful food or trick that people might try and tell you. You don't have to fully subscribe to nursing on demand to make sure that you're doing this when your baby goes through a growth spurt. Just be careful to listen to them, and to hear their cues. They're not trying to frustrate you or trying to just nurse all the time because they want to. It's usually for a reason, so that you can produce more milk and keep up with them, and usually they'll swing back into their normal schedule all on their own. Thanks so much for watching, my name's Christina Gavenda, and that's how to increase your milk supply for a nursing baby.
