Hi, my name is David Levine. I own Illinois Nut and Candy. We're online at Raisingthecandybar.com. Today, we're going to be making chocolate covered Rice Krispie treats. Rice Krispie treats are a favorite of all kids and adults too. Today, we're doing a slightly different twist to it, a sweeter twist at that point. We're making chocolate covered Rice Krispie treats like over here. The most important part about making a chocolate covered Rice Krispie treat is making sure that your chocolate is in temper. You could either use a tempering machine like I do here or if you don't have a tempering machine and you don't have a double boiler at home you can make your own double boiler for the project. Simply take a heating element, take two bowls, fill one with water, fill with chocolate. The most important thing is to make sure as you're tempering your chocolate to stir it on a regular basis and that is really important so you don't burn your chocolate. Now, how do you make a chocolate covered Rice Krispie Treat, it's really easy. Once you've made Rice Krispie treats and you all know how to do that on your own, is you take it, I'm going to turn off the spinning part of our tempering machine. We're going to put the Rice Krispie treat in chocolate. We're going to submerge the treat and remember, once the treat has been submerged and coated and the chocolate is properly tempered, you'll be able to take it out, put it on a cookie tray, we always cover ours with parchment and go do another one. Once the treats have all been covered and they are all covered and coated in chocolate, what you're going to want to do is let the chocolate set. You could either take the chocolate and put it in a cooling box which you may or may not have or what you can do is put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Be sure not to leave it in the refrigerator for too long as humidity from the refrigerator will cause the chocolate to bloom. Then once it's out of the refrigerator, enjoy. Thank you for watching today, and once again my name is David Levine with Illinois Nut and Candy. We're online at Raisingthecandybar.com and have a sweet day.
