Hello, I'm Darryle Brown, from BrownConsulting.org, and today we will discuss tips on how to mend a relationship with a coworker. Misunderstands and other factors do occur on the, in the workplace, even in the most ideal situations. Here are some tips to help you in the event that you're on the side of the offense, or the one who committed and offense in a working relationship with a coworker. Tip number one. The first thing you must do, especially if you've committed the offense, is to take responsibility for your role in the fallout. There may be a situation where you might not be aware that you've committed an offense, but if you have, take responsibility for your role in it, and acknowledge it, and make, take the steps necessary to ensure that the relationship gets back on track with that coworker. And tip number two, take the concerns of the coworker seriously. The things that you might be sensitive to, someone else might not be sensitive to, and vice-versa. What's really important is that regardless of how they might feel in a particular situation, that you might have been involved in, and you might consider it petty, it's a big deal to your coworker. Take their concerns seriously, because that is the way in which you will be able to get things back on track and move forward, when they feel that you're taking their concerns seriously. Tip number three. Apologize and be sincere about it, and work to make things right. What's important is in those relationships in the workplace is that people like to feel valued, they want their relationships to feel valued, and if you sincerely apologize, maybe it's something you wasn't aware that you've done, but if you're taking the steps to go out of your way to make things right with that co-worker, it will definitely go a long way towards mending those relationships. Sometimes relationships, broken relationships within the workplace, may take time to heal and it may take time for them to get back on track. But as long as you're doing your part to ensure that the relationships in the workplace are healthy, it will definitely go a long way towards the mending process and help to improve moral, and ensure that the workplace does not go to a point of escalation, and keeps the stress levels down. I'm Darryle Brown, from BrownConsulting.org, and these are tips to mending a working relationship with a coworker. Thank you for watching.
