Hi, I'm Winston Widdes, DJ Evolved, broadcasting from Level 3 Records Studios here in San Diego, California for eHow.com and today we're going to be talking about how to EQ drums. So for example, right here, we've got everything, we've got the kick, snare and toms all in one spot. So what I'm actually going to do is take out the kick and I'm going to treat the kick a little different. So the kick I'm going to treat kind of on its own and I'm going to use an EQ on it, right around 400 Hz seems to be the magic number and just take it out just a little bit and it gives it a little bit more of a thud, a little bit more of a punch and then when I put that back into the mix over here, it's going to give me a fuller sound. So there, we've got, we're going to EQ everything except for the kick on its own as one instrument and then the kick we're going to treat it as its own and cut out about, cut out a little bit at the 400 Hz range. So that is how you EQ drums. So once again, Hi, I'm Winston Widdes, DJ Evolved, broadcasting from Level 3 Records Studios here in San Diego, California for eHow.com and we've just finished talking about how to EQ drums.
