Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda at and today, we're going to talk about how to breastfeed your fussy baby. Breastfeeding can be a bit stressful, especially for new moms, or if there's been quite a bit of distance between your babies. And when they're fussy, it really can compound issues. You want to make sure that they're as comfortable as possible. Make sure they're burped, that they have a clean diaper on. And if they've got to a point where they're screaming, because they're so hungry. It might be helpful to use some pumped milk to calm them down a little bit. So that they're not so starving and it's a little bit easier for them to latch on. But if want to try to get them to latch on first, that's just fine. You're going to take them, lay them down as soothingly as you can, line them up to your breasts. And make sure that you're in a comfortable position, I like using a nursing pillow. And you want to nurse them, you want to get them in a position, where you're pulling them towards you. Not you coming towards them, because you're going to be stuck in that position for quite a while. So, get yourself comfortable, get them comfortable, lined up. It can be helpful to pinch your areola, so that it's a little bit easier for them to latch on. Get them to open their mouth by using their sucking reflex, you can touch their cheek to do that. And then, as soon as they have their mouth wide open, get your breasts in there. Get as much of it in there as possible, and hopefully they'll latch. If they don't latch, if they're still to fussy to nurse. Then, I would really encourage you to feed them some pumped milk to calm them down. So that they're not so stressed out while trying to nurse. And that's how you breastfeed your fussy baby, thanks so much for watching, my name is Christina Gavenda.
