Hi there. I'm Brian Lipstein, President of Henry A. Davidsen. We're here today to show you how to wear a black suit. Most people make a mistake of wearing a black suit during the day for their daily business. Really, black is a very formal color. So we wanna reserve black for formal occasions, either being weddings or black tie affairs, or funerals. So at any sort of mourning situation, black would show mourning. There is one time to wear a black suit during the day, and that would be if you're speaking to an audience. You would wear the black suit to establish your credibility as an expert. When you do wear the black suit, you wanna pair it with a light colored shirt to give you the highest impact. So, stick with a white or light blue shirt, or a light pink or light lavender shirt. Picking a nice tie to go with it, a colorful tie will be for more of a celebratory situation, whereas a darker tie would be more for the mourning situation. Here you can see we actually have a black tuxedo, which is a more formal black suit made formal and made a tuxedo by adding the satin trim to the lapel. Sometimes you'll see satin trim on the pockets as well, and when you're custom designing it, you can actually even add satin trim around the collar. That's pretty much how to wear a black suit. Stay away from it for daily business, and keep it for more your formal or mourning occasions. Again, I'm Brian Lipstein, here at Henry Davidsen, telling you how to wear a black suit.
