Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda at, and today we're going to be talking about how to help your baby with sleeping problems. All babies are different. Some babies seem to be born with a natural internal clock that has a rhythm and even a schedule to it already, some babies don't get a schedule until later on in their infancy. Some babies are even bad sleepers until they're toddlers or even preschool age kids. You wont know until you try a few things to see if anything helps. Something that has helped a lot of parents over the years with their infant is just a pacifier. One that fits their mouth, one that's comfortable and is good for orthodontics. And you can try and use that to calm them. Sometimes rocking. A lot of parents have found a CD of soothing music to be very helpful. Routines are really important in helping your baby establish a sleep pattern. Laying them down around the same time every day in the same general way, can help them get used to when it's time to rest and take a nap or go to bed. If your baby continues to have problems and they seem uncomfortable you may want to try seeing if they're having gas issues. Maybe you're not burping them correctly, maybe they need a gas aid for digestion. Or sometimes, and it's actually very common, your baby might have acid reflux and you can usually tell this if you're a mom when you lay your baby down and it seems to be more painful when you lay them down, or they spit up quite a bit, or they're just generally fussy for any reason. Your pediatrician or family doctor can help you out to figure out whether it might be a medical reason or whether maybe your baby just needs extra time in developing a routine. Thanks so much for watching. My name is Christina Gavenda, and today we talked about how to help your baby with sleep problems.
