Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda at, and today we're going to talk about how to put clothing on your newborn baby. You want to make sure that you dress your newborn gently and carefully but remember they are pretty difficult to harm as long as you are being intentionally careful. So you want to lay your baby down in a comfortable position. This might be on your lap, it might be on the bassinet. Take your clothing that's ready to be put on them and you just gently put the clothing on in the most logical way. If it's easy for them to have their legs put in first, then go ahead and do that. If it's easier for you to put a onesie on first then go ahead and do that. You want to make sure you keep supporting their head and then gently pull their arms back and put them in the armholes. As you are putting their arms in you want to watch for their fingers and be careful how you pull on their arms and bend them to put them in the sleeves. You also want to make sure you are dressing your baby appropriately for the weather. If it's chilly out, you want to put a onesie on underneath whatever they are wearing to help keep them warm. You also want to make sure that they're wearing socks. Even if the air doesn't feel cold to you but it doesn't feel hot either, it's generally still a good idea to put socks on your baby. Thanks so much for watching. My name is Christina Gavenda and that's how you put clothes on a newborn.
