Hi, my name is Christina of DomesticFelicity.com, and today we're going to talk about how to make glucose water for your baby. The short answer is you don't. If you feed your baby sugar water, which is what glucose water is, it can really upset their electrolyte balance in their body. They get all the fluid they need from breast milk and bottles the first six months of their life. If you feed them glucose water, then it could upset their sodium balance and that can be really dangerous. If your baby is sick and dehydrated, your doctor might recommend an electrolyte drink that has both carbohydrates and sodium in it that is safe for babies to give them to make sure they stay hydrated when they're sick especially. But that's up to you and your doctor, and you never want to give them glucose water. Thanks so much for watching, my name is Christina Gavenda and today we talked about how to make glucose water.
