Hi, I'm Dr. Theresa Ramsey for eHow.com and I'm here today to share with you some ideas to crate tasty meals for kids. The thing we know about our children is they're often very picky and their taste changes very often. So we know we also have to get into our children protein, vegetables and carbohydrates. So here's some creative ways to do that. So children like smaller sized meals and so small hamburgers are much more attractive to them than a large hamburger would be. Hamburgers are usually very well enjoyed by children, the smaller they are, the more likely they are to gobble them down. Also using any condiment that they like, putting them out in colorful bowls, makes it more attractive and fun for children to dress them up in the way that tastes best for them. We talk about greens for children. They're the hardest thing to get down them so we want to put out a variety because as their tastes change they may be reaching for different greens. And so I have some interesting choices like peas which most children like. You can dress them up however children like that, maybe with butter and salt and green beans are typically a favorite. We can eat them raw and snap them and chew them as stiffer vegetables or cook them and also the edamame bean is a new popular with children because they get to use their hands and eat and make it messy which children love. So edamame beans is another great green option. Then with the starches we want to keep to the healthiest starches possible as long as they like them. Rice is a very versatile food. We can make it spicy. We can make it in chicken stock, we can make it in creamy and so rice is a really beautiful choice, creating different rice dishes each night to see which one the children like and also sweet potato fries. All children love french fries why not try sweet potato fries, more color, more interesting. They have Cajun flavors and regular flavor and again using a lot of dips for them to make it even a new taste for them. So we want to make it interesting. We want to make it creative. We want to let them choose so that they feel empowered to make healthy choices on their own. So this is an easy meal for children that's tasty as well and I'm Dr. Theresa Ramsey for eHow.com.
