Hello, I'm Bruce Hurtwitz, president and CEO of Hurwitz Strategic Staffing. You can find me on the web at How to switch jobs when you need health insurance. This is a great example of an instance when a candidate thinks they have a problem but don't. Everyone, even employers understand the importance of health insurance. When asked why you're looking for a new job, just tell the truth, I need health insurance. Don't say anything negative about your current employer, that's always the wrong way to go and don't mix up issues, don't say there's no room for growth or I don't feel my skills are being properly utilized, just tell the simple truth. I need health insurance. Of course you don't want to look like a fool. So make certain that the company you are applying for offers health insurance and check to see what that means because sometimes it's only for the employee and if you need for your family, you're wasting everybody's time. You also want to find out what the health insurance includes and any costs involved. But as always, don't make benefits the focus of the interview because then they're going to think that all you care about is health insurance. There's a lot more to it than that. Stay focused on what counts if you want a job. And that's the needs of the employer and how you can meet them. Thank you for watching.
